Here are the pieces I dyed yesterday ... I'd like to try them again using different colors. The fuschia is a bit overpowering and I always get speckles...
This is the piece that was wrapped up. It's a one yard piece of fabric, so that's one big heart! I think it kinda looks like it has a smiley face in the heart. Not sure if I will use this for the quilt or not.
These are the stripes I had hanging on a clothesline. Kinda cool. Looks like a rainbow zebra. I think I'll enjoy cutting this piece up.
And this is the tone-on-tone that was in my sink. Kinda fun. I wish there were more blues yellows and greens over on the right, but the fuschia decided to set up shop on that side. I think it's kinda crazy with all those wild white flowers popping through. Sort of like a garden in reverse.

The tone on tone is awesome. I need to do some of those, I have yardage of that kind of fabric I bought just to do that but haven't had the time. THe heart turned out neat as well, I also need to learn to do that and the one with the stripes/lines I have done before, I tried to scrunch the fabric together and it didn't turn out how I wanted.

I really like these Michelle. My favorite is the second one with the vertical pattern.
I hear you about the fuchsia spots but you don't notice them as much with the tie dye. I have a piece of silk that I strain fuchsia and boysenberry through to help remove the freckle problem.
You are having way too much fun! Lots of exciting color! I had problems with spots too. It seems some of the dye colors don't mix well. Had it happen to Fushia and some purples. Don't know if it is the nature of the color or if it's old or what, but I take a coffee filter and strain it first. Another thing that I have done is pounce on some gold lumier paints to help hide it and it would add some other glimmer bits. in the fabric.

Wooooooah! These are too cool. Not sure which one I like best - they are all so different and so, um, YOU! The heart - not too vibrant and the speckles - just make it even cooler. The stripes are awesome - but that tone on tone - sweeeeet. I have some really ugly ivory with white tone on tone that I used fabric paint on and got similar results. Very successful experimentation I would say. Thanks for the thoughts about Gizmo - not sure what's happening yet.
